  3. Signature Speaker Series: Janet Ivey, NASA Ambassador

    October 16, 2018, 7:00 PM @ Wayne Theatre

NASA Ambassador Janet Ivey (Janet’s Planet) presents “Unsung Genius, Heroines of Science,” a lecture that will shine a light on the stories of women whose genius is largely unknown until now. In a world where the contributions of women in science have only begun to be given voice, Unsung Genius, Heroines of Science will showcase the women scientists of the past and offer insights into the incredible genius, tenacity, grit, and determination of the amazing contributions women have made to science and innovation. Any time spent delving into the work of the real heroines of science takes us to worlds of star-gazing, of pushing against the utmost bounds of human knowledge, of being bold, imaginative, decrying barriers and innovating against all odds. It is our intent that revealing the little known and never exalted inventions and discoveries by women will serve as a catalyst of heroic proportions."
